While Benjamin Netanyahu looks for more war solutions, China seals a big “peace” solution for Palestine.
The Fatah–Hamas conflict is an ongoing political and strategic conflict between Fatah and Hamas, the two main Palestinian political parties in the Palestinian territories, leading to the Hamas takeover of the Gaza Strip in June 2007.
Hamas has announced that it has signed a deal with other Palestinian factions including rivals Fatah to work together for “national unity.” Beijing which brokered the agreement said that the deal paves way for post-war governance in Gaza. Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi said that the deal lays the groundwork for an “interim national reconciliation government” to rule post-war Gaza. Wang Yi hosted senior Hamas official Musa Abu Marzuk, Fatah envoy Mahmud al-Aloul and emissaries from 12 other Palestinian groups. The deal was signed after three days of intensive talks in Beijing between long-term rivals Hamas and Fatah, as well as 12 other Palestinian outfits.
