Says, Zelensky, finally realizing he can not avoid Trump. Biden is not getting better, who ever comes in his place has way too little time to pick up a successful great campaign that would secure a victory in elections. Trump’s victory is not a given either, his enemies will most probably try again to get rid of him, but put it down on paper if you can not see it, he, Trump, has bigger chances to win and so, Zelensky calls Trump.
Mr Zelensky changed the mood from emotionally blackmailing any leader that makes business with Russia to expressing gratitude for anything and everything. However many $billions NATO countries commit to spend for Ukraine, military aid would go to Ukraine, all those F-16s, and Patriot systems… Ukraine needs men to fight even just to keep on keeping on dreaming they will on day recover the 1991 borders territories, and nobody will send more than few. Ukraine’s Army is like a dead body kept alive by machines. It is a great army but is not in the state to face the best army so far proved today, the Russian Army that is not only strong, self-sufficient and technologically advanced but its soldiers are even stimulated by big incentives for their successes in the battlefield. NATO can beat Russia probably, but Ukraine is not a cause big enough to take this risk, by the looks of it, and besides, the Houthis effervescence armed by Russia as retaliation to all this crazy Russo-phobia, in the Red Sea hurts.
I am pleased to hear and see a more down to earth Zelensky not playing the drama-king everyone should align with accordingly, but integrating himself in a picture where winds blow from another side.
Some say that he has certain “recreational” habits, and the whole Ukrainian army is “penetrated” by drug cartels for 3 reasons: first, to give some of the soldiers irrational courage to face a 5 times bigger enemy secondly, for the side effects that makes the subject violent, and third reason, to attract cheap mercenaries that would not mind a “free” sniff sand a good fight. I am not comfortable to speak in pejorative terms about leaders however much I do not agree with them at all, because they are going through a lot and they have so much on their shoulders, but let us say: the party is over.
